Terms of Use

Al Yamamah University (YU) offers faculty websites (“Services; Service”) to current faculty. The use of these Services is subject to the Terms of Use (“Terms”) contained herein. You must read and agree to these Terms, including any future amendments.

We will attempt to notify you when major changes are made to these Terms; however, Users should periodically review the most up-to-date version available online HERE. YU may, in its sole discretion, modify or revise these Terms at any time. If you do not accept and abide by these Terms, you may not use the Services.

I – Disclaimer

Websites published through these Services may include un-moderated dialog containing the personal opinions and expressions of the Users who submitted the entries. Neither the content of these websites, nor the links to other websites, are reviewed, approved, or endorsed by YU. Furthermore, YU does not guarantee the truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of any communications posted, submitted or displayed through the Service.

Although Al Yamamah University does not routinely monitor content posted by Users, YU reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms, but is under no obligation to do so.

II – Description of Service

YU offers faculty website services in support of personal, curricular, and scholarly communications conducted by the University community. These Services are made available to any current faculty of YU subject to the terms and conditions of use.

Faculty websites are maintained by an individual or individuals, with regular entries consisting of commentary, descriptions of events, and/or other content such as graphics, photos, or audio/video clips.

The Service is provided to Users on an as-is and as-available basis. YU reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service with notice at any time and without any liability to its Users.

III – Proper Use

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account and password and accept responsibility for all activities occurring under their account. Users agree that they will not access or attempt to access any other User’s account, or misrepresent or attempt to misrepresent their identity while using the Services.

Users may post content freely through the Services provided by YU, so long as the content is not illegal, obscene, defamatory, threatening, infringing on another’s intellectual property rights, or otherwise injurious or objectionable. Users agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable local and international laws.

Use of YU computer resources for private business or commercial activities, fund-raising or advertising on behalf of non-YU organizations is prohibited. Faculty website pages may link to commercial web sites, but any link that generates, or has the potential to generate revenue to YU or to any individual or company, including click trade or banner advertising are prohibited.

IV – Intellectual Property Rights

Users retain all patents, trademarks and copyrights to any content posted, submitted, or displayed through these Services and are responsible for protecting those rights, as appropriate.

By posting, submitting or displaying content through the Services provided by YU, Users are granting YU a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide license to use the content without limitation, including the rights to copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, reproduce, edit, and reformat the content. Furthermore, YU may incorporate your content into a collection of work at any time.

V – Termination, Suspension of Service

YU may, at its sole discretion, at any time and for any reason suspend or terminate a Users account, amend these Terms, or terminate the Service. In the event of termination, access to the account will be disabled and any content contained within may (but is not guaranteed to) remain in our system for back-up purposes.

VII – Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the User and YU and governs the use of the Services. These Terms supersede any and all prior oral or written agreements with the Users.
